Dear students, here are the steps to join the MoneyCell community at ÉTS.
Step 1 - Register to MoneyCell:
To subscribe to MoneyCell, you will first need to complete a registration form and create an account on the MoneyCell.com website. You will be asked to submit some standard personal information.
Step 2 – Apply your NFC tag on your mobile phone when received:
Once you have completed your registration, an NFC tag will be sent to you by mail to the address associated to your MoneyCell account. When received, please apply it on the back of your mobile phone. This NFC tag will identify you at participating merchants stores.
Step 3 – Access the MoneyCell mobile app:
For those who own a smartphone, you can access the MoneyCell mobile app for free. From your mobile browser, type http://m.moneycell.com. To prevent doing this action every time you wish to connect, add the MoneyCell icon on your home screen.
This application enables you to access your MoneyCell account, your wallet, your transactions history, to make money transfers, to reload your MoneyCell account, and much more. This mobile app provides you with all the same information that you’ll find on the secured zone of the MoneyCell.com website.
For those who don’t hold a smartphone but still interested in MoneyCell, they can still benefit from everything MoneyCell has to offer. Instead of using their mobile, they will have to access their MoneyCell wallets through the web. Consequently, interactivity will be affected!
Step 4 - Load your account:
To load your account, you must link your MoneyCell account to your bank account. To do so, access your “Wallet” page on the secured zone of the MoneyCell.com website. Then choose ‟Add a bank account’’. Make sure to have your financial institution name, branch and account numbers on hand.
Once completed, MoneyCell will deposit 2 small amounts into your bank account. A reminder e-mail inviting you to view your bank account will be sent to you within 24 to 48 hours. Mark down these 2 amounts and enter them in your MoneyCell wallet. Your account status will be confirmed once MoneyCell validates that these 2 amounts match the ones deposited earlier. At this point, you’ll be able to fully benefit from the product!
You’re now ready to load your account. Simply enter the amount you wish to transfer, and click on the “Reload” button from your MoneyCell mobile or web applications. Your account will be reloaded in the next 24 to 48 business hours.
Step 5 - Use MoneyCell to pay for purchases or to send money to someone:
Now that your MoneyCell account has funds, you are ready to use it to pay at any of our participating merchants or simply to send money to someone. Remember that you only need to put your mobile device near a POS terminal (Point-Of-Sale terminal) in order to instantly pay for your purchase. For security reasons, you will need to enter your 4-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number) for any transaction over $15. So, it is important that you remember it.
Please note that soon after receiving your NFC tag, visit any participating merchant store to activate it. When paying, your PIN will be requested regardless of the amount of your transaction. Your identity will therefore be validated.
When transferring money to someone, you will simply need to enter the mobile phone number of the person who is to receive your funds, then click on the “Send the request” button. The transfer will be done automatically.
