The MoneyCell E-Wallet: 100% Canadian
Our product is the solution!
MoneyCell is the first independent E-Wallet. 100% Canadian, the MoneyCell solution allows the user to reinvent his wallet by merging his physical wallet and mobile phone. Therefore, the user no longer needs to carry his cards, cash and loose change along. Slowly but surely, everything his real wallet contains will be transferred into the MoneyCell system. Whether he wishes to pay for goods at a merchant store, transfer money to someone he knows, receive mobile coupons, benefit from a loyalty program and much more, the user will be able to perform all those actions through one simple, quick and secure application.
MoneyCell is the flagship product of DH International. Founded in 1999, DH International is a pioneering service provider in the field of fund transfer and payment through mobile devices and the web. The company also holds patents that protect its intellectual property. Since January 2011, an entire team of managers and IT developers have joined their efforts for the launch of MoneyCell’s pilot project at a Québec’s top School of applied engineering, ÉTS.
MoneyCell was developed to meet the needs of both clients and merchants, following trends in the market:
- Although several business payment systems exist, retailers and merchants require a more convenient and more affordable service with a simple method of transferring money, anytime and anyplace.
- Consumers’ Loyalty is a real challenge for many. Merchants need to better understand their consumers’ behaviours in order to gain their loyalty.
- Customers require a more convenient, fast, current and secure service to settle frequent small-to-medium amount payments (a “cash substitute”).
- The mobile phone industry is a fast growing sector; user needs diverge from one another and transcend the traditional affordability of services currently offered. Mobility is personal, intimate and present in the consumer’s lifestyle.
At the end of 2010, MoneyCell approached and offered ÉTS (École de technologie supérieure) to put in place a live lab (pilot project) which will allow students to test the solution before its commercial deployment. Why so? No one is more eager than a tech-savvy soon to be engineer, known for always being an early adopter when it comes to new technologies, to test MoneyCell’s E-Wallet solution. Perfectly fitting with the Quartier de l’innovation initiative that ÉTS is implementing, the management has accepted to open its doors to MoneyCell in order to collect all parameters and feedbacks from students and participating merchants to improve the product.
